Our mission is to help dog owners build a better relationship with their dog through education, communication, and shared adventures. We do this by providing behavioral support, resources, and education to families and by organizing events where people and their pets can experience the world around them in new ways.
Our goal is that through these objectives, we can help build a world where dog owners of all backgrounds can experience the joy of exploring the world around them with a reliable, trustworthy, well-behaved canine companion.
We take exceptional value in our teamwork, transparency with our clients, and commitment to our craft by pursuing a positive, science-based approach.

Since 2012, Steven Tallas, CDTK has been professionally working to help pet owners effectively and compassionately care for their pets. In 2017, Steven began leading a project called The Sit, Walk, & Barc Event at Barc Animal Shelter and Adoptions to help shelter dogs get adopted while educating volunteers at his local animal shelter about dog behavior. Steven's mission with this event was to increase adoption rates in the shelter by training dogs to become more adoptable and by providing awareness and knowledge of animal behavior.
Utilizing trainers and groomers from local shops and a great photographer and personal friend, Tallas organized several successful BARC events in the span of a year. He and his team taught over 50 volunteers who spent over 100 documented hours training sheltered dogs. This contributed to numerous at-risk dogs finding forever homes or being transferred to safer places.
In 2020, Steven founded Venture Dog Training, a company with the sole purpose of educating owners on how to properly introduce creative adventures to the everyday lives of pet owners. Today Venture Dog Training expands from Houston to Austin, TX and continues to help pet owners obtain a new and exciting relationship with their pet.
